Free Events During the National Black Arts Festival at the Woodruff Arts Center, July 31-August 2

Not everything is free during the National Black Arts Festival summer festival from July 31-August 2, 2009, but so much is, you won’t want for things to do.
International Marketplace: Artisans around the world will bring their wares to the Woodruff Arts Center. Of course you’ll have to pay to bring their creations home with you, but it’s free to browse. You’ll find handcrafted jewelry, woven fabrics, sculptures, and more.
NBAF Main Stage at Woodruff Arts Center: Free music abounds during the festival. Here’s a look at the schedule:
Friday, July 31:
- 12:30 p.m.: Dj Salah
- 2:00 p.m.: Traci Wynn
- 3:00 p.m.: Gritz n’ Jelly

Children’s Education Village: During family days, families receive free admission to the NBAF’s Children’s Education Village, which features a child-size replica of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s childhood home. Free admission is available on Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 2, from noon-5:00 p.m.
