Thanks to a lead from Paul, those of you in North Georgia can take advantage of a free Movies in the Park series.

Admission is free, but you’ll want to bring a blanket or a low-back chair. Movies begin at sunset, but get there early for pre-movie activities for the kids.

Most of the Movies in the Park films are still to be announced. Click on the locations below closer to the date for details.

• June 27: Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa, Heritage Park in Canton
• July 18: Newtown Park in Johns Creek
• August 7-8: North GA Film Fest at the Forsyth Fairgrounds in Cumming
• August 1: Heritage Park in Canton
• August 15: Ocee Park in Johns Creek
• August 21: Rock Creek Sports Park in Dawsonville
• Oct 3: Newtown Park in Johns Creek
